What is Real Food? Real Food is a movement that focuses on nutrient dense foods from both plants and animals, including healthy traditional fats like butter, lard, egg yolks and coconut oil. The Weston A. Price Foundation gives a nice summary in their free Healthy 4 Life pamphlet.
Having suffered with morbid obesity for the majority of my life, I can personally attest that eating processed, simple carbs and/or a grain based diet causes me to put on weight even if it is low in calories. I will be chronicling my attempts to prepare and follow a more natural diet in this blog.
Having said this, I fully recognize and respect that not everyone shares my experiences and opinions. Food and diet has become a polarizing issue in many arenas. There are those who are very happy with their vegetarian diet and those who cannot tolerate meat. This blog is the record of my experiences and not an attempt to define anyone else’s reality.
